Diageo Johnnie Walker Blue Label New Bottle Launch
EVERY GREAT JOURNEY, EVERY GRAND VISION AND EVERY MOMENTOUS ACHIEVEMENT - THEY ALL START SOMEWHERE.
For JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL it started in 1867 in an age that would change the world beyond recognition. Alexander Walker was then honing skills passed down from his father, John Walker, a name that would become synonymous with Scotch Whisky. John was 15 when he opened his shop in Ayrshire in 1820 and began to develop a talent for blending teas and spices from the New World. Later he applied his skills to whisky, harnessing flavours from the four corners of Scotland, marrying sweetness and smoke to produce deep, characterful blends.
Alexander was like his father - determined, visionary, driven. He searched for layered flavours and subtle notes, culminating in his 1867 Old Highland Whisky. A blend of such rare crafting and flavour, it became known as a definitive statement in whisky excellence.
Will Peacock, Global Reserve Marketing Manager, commented: "Our new bottle and packaging, celebrates the original 19th century bottle, with its iconic square shape, blue tinted glass and thick glass base and has been introduced to ensure that JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL stands proudly as the luxury blend to celebrate remarkable personal achievements."
The redesigned bottle features beautifully crafted details that reflect the brand's commitment to both past and present. An ultra-thick glass base and side walls frame the peerless blend inside, with the light blue glass allowing the whisky to shine through. The John Walker & Sons monogram and Royal Warrant are printed directly onto the glass in a rich gold colour, providing strong quality cues, while prominent individual bottle numbering reflects the limited nature of this inimitable Scotch Whisky.

In the mid-1800s, a grocer called John Walker from Kilmarnock decided that the whiskies available to him just weren't good enough. He took the best whiskies he could find from the East and West coasts and blended them together to create a whisky of superior quality, which he sold in his own shop. As the whisky's reputation grew, customers would return to the shop and ask for the blend by name, and Johnnie Walker whisky was born. Over the next century, the company grew from strength to strength because of an uncompromising approach to quality. Under the guardianship of the Walker family, new and distinctive blends were developed to build the brand that is recognised around the world today.
Blended from among the rarest, most exceptional casks in the Johnnie Walker reserves, Blue Label Scotch Whisky includes whiskies from distilleries that no longer exist. Blue Label is powerful, smooth, and characterised by an intense explosion of flavour that unfolds to release subtler and more delicate notes with every sip. Our biggest, boldest whisky represents a pinnacle of blending.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V Edition celebrates the first Royal Warrant granted to John Walker & Sons Ltd. To supply Scotch whisky to the British Royal Household in 1934. Our crown jewel, this handcrafted whisky uses techniques practiced during the era of King George V on whiskies from distilleries operational during his reign. Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V Edition possesses a profound smoky signature and complex taste, with a mouth-warming peaty finish.

In 1691 Johannes Nolet settled in the Netherlands town of Schiedam and established the Nolet Distillery. The town went on to become Holland’s distilling centre. In the nineteenth century the Nolets acquired a fleet of clipper ships for overseas distribution. Carl Nolet Sr. became chairman in 1979. He foresaw that the success and independence of the Nolet Distillery relied on its ability to develop a distinctive product capable of continuing the family tradition in an ambitious market. Having sole access to Johannes Nolet's secret journal, he revived the original recipes and techniques of his ancestors. Thus Ketel One Vodka was born.
Production
Ketel One is distilled from wheat in column stills to produce a superb neutral grain spirit. The spirit is finished in small-batch copper pot stills to ensure a rich velvety finish. The original 'Distilleerketel #1,' or pot still #1, is the product's namesake. The coal-fired still remains in use today. Every bottle of Ketel One has been distilled in the #1 pot still. The vodka is then cut with water and filtered through charcoal to create a crisp and sophisticated taste profile. To eliminate contamination, all bottles are cleaned with Ketel One Vodka prior to filling.
