Cradle Mountain Huts Walk

The Cradle Mountain Huts six-day walk is a fabulous journey within Tasmania's World Heritage Area. Following the famous Overland Track, the walk extends from Cradle Valley to Lake St. Clair through a variety of spectacular landscapes.

Cradle Mountain – Lake St. Clair is 161,204 hectares of World Heritage wilderness, a pristine and prized environment. This extraordinary World Heritage Area features a huge diversity of flora and fauna; glacial lakes, rain forests, and craggy peaks, sit side by side with wombats, echidnas, wallabies and Tasmanian devils all making this their home.

Each evening's accommodation is in one of five private huts nestled away in this remarkable park. Just off the Overland Track, each hut is a haven to retreat to at the end of the day and features hot showers, potbelly heater and twin-share rooms with comfortable beds. A hearty three-course dinner is prepared by your guides, with fine Tasmanian wine and cheerful conversation a very pleasant way to relax.

The huts have been designed to be ecologically sustainable, with non-polluting, self-contained services and careful waste management practices. This minimal impact means that the values of this fragile environment are preserved for the future whilst enabling it to be enjoyed today by a small number of people.
